Welcome to the website of Roy Whenary, author of the book: THE TEXTURE OF BEING, which has been widely acclaimed for its simplicity and clarity of language, on the subject of Advaita (Non-Duality) and daily living.

LOTUS HARMONY website is a portal into a different way of seeing, feeling and viewing the world, life and everything. Roy's approach follows the modern tradition of teachers such as Jean Klein, Nisargadatta Maharaj and J.Krishnamurti ... and has some affinity with the more informal elements of Zen Buddhism.

No personal claims are made by the author, and there is no invitation to adopt a radical non-dualistic stance or special language. Non-duality is not an exclusive philosophy and points not only to that which is beyond everyday awareness, but also to the richness and beauty of the manifest universe.

Here are just a few endorsements from key writers on the subject:

"The book (The Texture Of Being) explains the basis of spiritual seeking

in simple terms and may lead the reader to a more intensive quest".

Ramesh Balsekar (author of many books on Advaita)

"This is an absolute gem of a book. Written in a smooth and yet elegant style, `The Texture of Being' is essentially a meditation on the nature of our true selves - the unlimited, timeless consciousness that unites all beings as One. Devoid of the technical language that normally hallmarks many texts on advaita (or nonduality), Roy's book considers the way in which we can balance living in the world with the knowledge that, despite all the stresses and strains of everyday existence, life is essentially a manifestation of something greater, untainted by suffering and change. And access to this underlying ocean of peace, of oneness, is available to all of us, right here, right now. `The Texture of Being' is a beautiful book and well worth savouring time and again".

Paula Marvelly (author of 'Teachers Of One')

"The Texture of Being is recommended for those becoming familiar with self-inquiry and the literature of nonduality. Whenary speaks as a knowing, trusted friend or guide. His theme is how to practice Advaita in daily life. To develop the theme, Whenary's treatment of Advaita calls for feeling the texture of being, "the silent rhythm of your true nature," in all of life's situations. That's the hook of the book and it is free of philosophy, analysis, a method, a list of important points to remember, a mantra, an inquiry".

Jerry Katz (editor of the book: 'One', and proprietor of www.nonduality.com)

"A practical guide to living the spirit of non-duality amidst the vicissitudes of the apparent world. Roy appeals from the heart directly to the heart for us to recognise our true nature and abandon once and for all the traditional pursuits of pleasure, prestige and prosperity, which can never lead to happiness. Instead, we should open ourselves up to the silence and clarity, there to discover the beauty and fulfilment of the reality that is already here and now".

Dennis Waite (author of 'The Book Of One'  & 'Back to the Truth')

"We do not need to search in order

to find our true being. We already are it,

and the mind which searches for it is the

very reason why we cannot find it"

(from 'The Texture of Being')

"When we find the clarity of our true nature,

all the obstacles to happiness fall away,

revealing an inner joy, which, like a flower,

is always ready to respond to the light".

(from 'The Texture of Being')

"Time is a human invention.

When we live by the clock

we miss the passing moments of life,

which means that we do not live at all.

These passing moments

are all that we have.

The rest is merely a dream".

(from 'The Texture of Being')
